Baglavad
This is the main city in which all the clan leaders reside and pull the strings from the cover of the never ending night.
The city looked almost like a painting as the moon slowly rose over it in the early hours of the night. Everything was slowly shrouded in blacks and grays, all the colour of the early Spring months now fading into blandness so that the stars may shine so much brighter. Not long before the moon had risen her path, in the still-dim glow of dusk and twilight, mothers had ushered their youngest children into their homes and beds, with full tummies and not a care in the world for what lurked outside the safety of their walls. For a while, all was quiet... not a single thing stirred in the dark streets, not a sound was made. Then suddenly, when the moon was nearly at her highest, the shadows seemed to start dancing as if against fire, but without the flames, and a crazed laugh rang out among the houses. It was light, fleeting, fun, amused... but secretly disturbed. As a light flickered on a corner of the inn in the center of town, a girl with long black hair and near-white hazel eyes stepped out of the shadows of an alleyway. She smiled with her full, ruby red lips and her pale skin glimmered, her purple and gold dress swaying in the breeze and the jewel on her silver headpiece glinting in the moonlight. She studied the outside of the inn, hearing people inside--late nighter's with no reason to go home so soon, and plenty more alcohol to be had. She contemplated going inside... but the bright lights of the festivities kept her at bay, so she simply leaned against the brick of the wall, watching through a window as people danced, sang, and drank. What fun they seemed to be having! She wished she could join them... If only there were a way to blow out a few of those torches inside. For now, she simply smiled and waited. Hopefully someone would come out and she could have her fun.
A young woman donned in a simple dress carried herself down the street. Water dripped heavily from her form and puddled at her feet, making her appear as though she had drowned, as she stopped at the sound of the joyful festivities. A black curtain cascaded around her face, hding it from veiw as she bowed her head. Her bare feet dug into the dirt that lay around her. Her body tensed, but after a moment's pause swayed down the street, headed for the other woman that leaned against a wall.
A young man walked out from a side-street, looking sort of out of place with his colorful attire despite it mostly being covered by his very expensive looking raincape, he sniffed the air and let out a sound of joy. "Ahhhh, the sweet fragrance of females, young females no less.... Is there anything better for the beginning of such a beautiful night I wonder?" He quickly made his way towards where he had smelled the women's scent without seeming to interested and putting on his most charming smile.
The watter-logged woman stopped short upon seeing the woman with long black hair and hazel eyes. A tiny pale hand reached up and brushed the long wavy black hair from her own face, revealing two eyes, red as blood and a delicate form that gave her the apperance of a young girl. Her eyes shifted from the form that approached her and the girl near her. She did not move a muscle, her arms and legs already tightened as if she was ready to give chase in a moments notice.
The raven-haired girl with the hazel eyes could feel another's eyes on her back, and she spun around gracefully to see whom. She smiled widely at the sight of another living creature on the street and she pulled herself from the inn's brick wall. "A playmate! How lovely!" she cheered, giggling insanely for a moment before taking a graceful step towards the soaked woman, noting her red eyes. "A demon! A demon! Oh gods, a friend!" she said next, twirling with her arms wide open and her face tilted to the sky, her face glowing under the moonlight. She stopped to face the woman again, her skirts still moving and her jewelry clinking like bells for a few minutes even after she'd paused and she tilted her head at the woman, her hands up and in front of her like she was preparing to play the piano. "What be your name, fair mistress demon?"
The demon glanced up at the young girl as if studying her for a moment. Her lips parted as she inhaled to breath out an answer. "They call me Deidre, and yes I am demon, I can only assume you are one as well you one," Deidre straightened her shoulders, bringing her mere height and revealing her true posture. She went from a timid shy thing to the true demon she was. She exhaled a sigh and brushed her hair back till it was slick against her neck and played down her back. She glanced at the girl's hands, wondering what she would do, as the water ran down her body and puddled around her heels, somehow her clothes and self becoming dry.
The girl smiled widely at Deidre, her own hazel eyes looking truely amused. After Deidre's answer reached her ears, she let out a happy giggle and did another graceful spin, closing her eyes. "
Fear, oh children, for the demons sway, they've come to take your souls away! All you can do is cry and pray that you'll live to see another day!" she sang aloud, her voice very melodious and beautiful, despite the eeriness of the song. She laughed when she stopped spinning, hugging herself around her middle as she did, as if she'd already been laughing for so long that her sides hurt and she smirked at Deidre before making another twirl into the long shadow of a moonlit building, suddenly disappearing in the blackness, even though her laughter and singing rang on as if she was still there. "...they've come to take your souls away!"
The young man approached silently with a smile and then made his presence known by clearing his throat. "My, my... What are two lovely young ladies doing out at this hour all alone?" He said with his most charming voice and didn't seem surprised at Deidre's disappearing act as his yellowish eyes glowed softly in the night.
Deidre watched the twisted girl disappear from her veiw. Her red eyes rolled, no longer caring about the girl, but allowed a small smile to grace her lips as she remembered the song that she sang. As soon as she heard anohter voice, she tensed once more and turned, slightly surpised to see a young male staring at her. "I beleive you are mistaken, there is only one. And it should be you who is wary at this time of night. Or do you not know the things that 'go bump in the night'?" Deidre used the human phrase smiling slightly once more. Her hair, now dry, cascaded around her face once more, framing it and contrasted with her pale skin.
Conall saw all the people starting to gather from his little spot where he was peacefully reading his book. The full moon wasn't for another three days, so it was safe for him to be out. He noticed two other strange people coming, one of them a guy he wasn't very fond of.
Benigno walked out of the inn with a shorter girl with long brown hair. "How many times do I have to tell you Kila, when a man touches you in such a manner, don't kill him, just knock him out."
Kila glared up at him fiercely. "Look, I didn't approve of such a deed. Besides, you stopped me before I could kill him!"
Bella was reading a book and accidently bumped into Benigno. She fell to the ground and her book fell down to. "Hey watch where your walking!" She reached over for her book and got up brushing herself off.
The young man smiled and the smile slightly turned into a grin as he started softly to chuckle. "Oh, I probably know more of what goes 'bumping' in the night then you do my dear, one way or the other..." He grinned a little and nodded towards where the other girl had disappeared. "True, but there was two and I was hoping that when I started to speak she might come back... But it doesn't matter that much, if she doesn't want to talk to me then it's up to her, I'd much rather prefer talking to you fair lady anyway." He said in a soft almost sensual voice.
Deidre's head lulled back onto her shoulders as a musical laughter filled the night air. "Young man, that girl and I are share more than you could probably know." She smirked, it complimenting her eyes that sparkled, and in a softer voice replied, "I happen to be one one those things that go bump in the night." She chuckled now, a pale hand sweeping up her hair and pinning it against her head, out of her face, allowing her to see.
The guy chuckled and almost started laughing then shrugged and looked straight at her with his golden eyes. "My name is Alden and trust me, I know fair lady, it's part of what makes you more appealing..." He tilted his head cutely with his ever charming smile. "I think it makes you even more beautiful then the average mortal..." He said softly.
Cricket walked around the corner and gazed up from the book in her hands. She stared for a few moments at the strange congregation. She felt a moment of fear as she noticed the girl with the red eyes. Cricket decided to face her fear and confront them. "Well this seems like quite a group." She muttered quietly.
"
Fear, oh children, for the demons sway!" rang out the twisted girl's melodic voice as the shadows seemed to dance on their own about Alden and Deidre, and eventually Cricket, Bella, Conall, Benigno and Kila. The looked about ready to swallow them all up, evil grinning faces appearing on the sides of buildings without shapes or lights to create them aside from the moon. "
They've come to take your souls away! All you can do is cry and pray, that you'll live to see another day!" Two shadowy hands suddenly threw themselves from the gripping darkness of a shrouded wall and grabbed at Bella's hair, fingering it lightly, along with her clothes. "They've come to take your soul away!" the girl whispered, her whispers fading eerily against Bella's ear, then was followed by a ringing laughter.
Kila growled. "I fear nothing. I live with vampires." she rolled her eyes.
Benigno looked at Bella and laughed slightly. "My bad girly." He blinked and looked at Kila, then looked at the twisted girl. "Hey.. I'm not that bad..."
Conall rolled his eyes. "You're being ridiculous..." he said to both Benigno and the really odd girl.
"Uh, yeah, I fear nothing either." Cricket blurted out immediately, before realizing that she may have just challenged a demon. She gave a weak and nervous grin.
Bella growled and got up with her book "Just watch were your walking fruit cake." She pushed by him roughly and opened her book and began to read. She ignored the voice in her head and the things touching her, thinking it was just her imagination.
Deidre looked the man back into his eyes, "Alden, was it?" SHe smiled, tips of pearly white fangs showing, "Flattery will get you no where with me. I have lived far longer than you could imagine, and I know your type. I know you're a demon as well, what type, I don't know, but," Deidre stopped and looked at the shadows, dismissing them without so much as a second glance, and as her gaze lifted back up, she saw a young man donned in a black leather jacket walking down the street.
The young man smiled upon seeing her, his eyes lighting up, he waved to her, calling out, "Mother!"
Deidre smiled truely, waving back to him and turned to Alden, "It was nice meeting you." Her red eyes lighted with fair amusment and something dangerous in her eyes.
The young man bumped into Kila and Benigno, he bowed his head, "My apologies young lady and lord." He smiled softly, letting his head rise up lightly.
Polgara stood in the shadows, leaning against a building where she could watch what was going on. As she stood there, her simple black gown and black hair seemed to disappear into the shadows, the only thing that stood out to give her away was her white skin, and the silver lock of hair down the right side of her face.
Alden chuckled and shrugged. "Never can compete with kids... Don't really want to either now I think of it." He says to himself and wanders around trying to look for another person to charm. "If you don't know the type then how can you know I haven't lived longer then you? You can't, now can you? Exactly, so you shouldn't really be so rude my lady...." He conversed with himself out of slight irritation.
The dancing shadows and the whispering voices had receded from Bella and moved back to Alden, who seemed to be alone now, and the strange girl manifested from the shadows slowly, appearing naked at first, then her clothes slowly appeared as well. She sighed in satisfaction, wobbled on her feet a little, as if drained of energy, but her smile never faltered as she skipped up to Alden and folded her hands behind her back neatly. "Her name is Deidre!" she cheered. "She's a demon! And so are you! And so am I!" she giggled, waving her arms a little. Her bare feet never made a sound on the stone pavement as she jumped and turned and spun, then stopped suddenly to face Alden, her hair framing her face prettily and her white-hazel eyes glinting like the silver piece that rested against her forehead. "What's your name, charm demon?"
Alden chuckled. "I already knew she was a demon and could guess you are as well with the whole disappearing act, a very charming one even at that, my name is Alden by the way, Alden Agapious, I wouldn't really call myself a charm demon but if it suits your fancy fair lady." He did a theatrical bow and smiled as his features altered just slightly as he had set his eyes on her now instead of Deidre.
Benigno blinked at Bella's nickname. "Wha???" He didn't even notice the young man.
Kila blinked and smiled. "Its quite alright. No harm done."
Bella sighed as she kept walking slowly and reading. "did i studder wonder boy?"
Conall rolled his eyes in slight annoyance.
Polgara stepped out of her place in the shadows, her long black hair swaying slightly down her back, "Well this is an odd gathering." she commented, her voice soft like the rustle of her skirts, but plenty clear enough to be heard.
Deidre smiled at Alden, chuckling lightly, "I believe you might fall under incubus if I am right, and that young boy is not my child, he only calls me that to annoy me." She looked at Angelo before turning to Polgara, "It is an odd gathering; vampires, demons, lycans, humans....what type of demon might you be, dear?" She stepped forward, no longer caring to look like a timid young thing. Her red eyes danced with delight and the breeze tugged at her dress, playing with the hem.
Angelo sprinted up behind Deidre, tapping her shoulder to alert her of his presence which she ignored, and he grinned, "Hey there old lady. Here me earlier?"
Deidre growled, not taking her eyes off Polgara, "Yes, do not call me a parent, I do not have children, nor do I want any, you darn lycan." She looked to Polgara for an answer.
Alden smiled and tilted his head looking to Deidre. "That I might, either way then if he is born your son or otherwise is not important, what's important is that you care about him like one, in your own way..." He grinned and shrugged. "By the way you should then also know that as an Incubus then my appearence mainly stays the same age depending on of course the one I get interested in desires someone of that age, otherwise much like most other non-hume then it'll be practically impossible to tell my age..." He grinned then turned back to the shadow demon infront of him. "By the way, it isn't really polite to just ask another's name and not give your own in return, may I ask your name fair maiden?"
Deidre spared him a glance, "He and I join once every few years, he's more of a younger brother than my own child. He takes care of himself and has for many a year. As for your age, I do not care to know, and the same goes for Nicors, water demons, we grow to a certain age and stay that way for almost all eterity or until we have a child and die off." She looked back to Polgara.
A small human girl took a seat by Conall, pulling a book out of a bag near her side. Her black ruffled skirt swayign slightly and her fingers toyed with a small white skull that lay on her small waist, the book laying her her lap, as her brown eyes danced across the page, flittering from word to word.
Conall looked at her and blinked. Of course he didn't say anything seeing that he was a naturally quiet guy.
Benigno turned completely to Bella. "'Wonder boy'? Really girly? I've heard worse."
Kila glared at him. "Stop flirting and lets get home."
Bella faced him and walked up to him running a finger nail under his chin "i could say worse...but i dont want to hurt you sweet heart."
The strange girl that was the shadow demon clicked her tongue and shook a finger in Alden's face, shaking her head, but her eyes never left his. "It's also not polite to ignore a question." she smirked and then took a step back, doing a very smooth backflip, disappearing into blackness of shadows in mid-flip. She reappeared behind him in a puff of what seemed like black sand and her hands trailed down his back. "But my name is Lavinia. Livi, if you prefer." she whispered, tickling the back of his neck with her breath. "And I'm a shadow demon."
Alden grinned and chuckled at her hands trailing down his back and her breath that tickled his neck. "I am sorry if I ignored your question, I otherwise believe I answered your question, either way it's very delightful to make your aquintance my dear Livi."
"No demon, vampire." Polgara replied to Deidre, "And you are a water demon." it was more an observation than a question, Pol had been watching long enough to know.
"Yes, I am a nicor," Deidre titled her head cutely and gave a coy smile. She twined her hands together behind her back, rocking slightly on her heels.
The human girl fel someone looking at her and she lifted her gaze forward and then looked to the right and left and spotted Conall. "Hello," she stated briefly, before glancing down at her book but she was truely watching Conall.
"Oh really?!" Livi cheered, jumping back from Alden's backside and bouncing on her toes a little, giggling madly. "I'm excited to be making so many new friends!" She spun in a circle and stopped when she saw others, then spun some more cheerfully. "Yay!" She disappeared into the shadows on the ground and reappeared behind a statue in the town fountain, holding onto the figure's stomach with both arms and swinging herself lazily, smiling widely. "What shall we do?"
Alden grinned. "Well, is there anything you want to do sweet Livi?" He tilted his head with a soft smile.
"An incubus and a shadow demon," Deidre paused for amoment, "Interesting." The smile gone from her face, but her tone carried a playful note to it. She walked to a fountain that sat in the center of the square. She smiled, seeing it was one of the ones that sat in the ground, rather than above. She swiftly seated herself and swung her bare feet over the fountain, spalshing with the water. Her body relaxed, and her eyes closed, a peaceful expression crossing her face.
Angelo glanced at Deidre and knew better than to go over there himself, for she was already annoyed enough with him for the day and he set off in search for someone else to talk to.
Polgara shot a look at the two as a response to Deidre's comment, she had never liked incubus and succubus, they were much to...forward..
.for her tastes, no subtlety.
Alden returned the look with one of his charming smiles. "Yes? May I help you dear?"
Pol looked at him, unimpressed, "No, you may not 'help' me. I know your type." she said coldly.
Alden smiled and shrugged. "So my type would be the same as you having the type 'cold mindless bloodsucking fiend with no consciounce or soul whatsoever'? Never should you put people into folds like that my dear.... It'll only end up getting you hurt..." He sighed from boredom just to return to his dear shadowdemon with an enamoring smile.
Pol stiffened, she knew that her soul was damned, how could she forget it? The other claims she could shrug off, but that, being reminded of that cut her deeply. None of this however, showed on her indifferent looking features, she just turned and sat on the edge of the fountain near Deidre.
Alden sighed and shook his head. "Like it just did, that just shows you that you shouldn't put labels on people that easily, by the way that you even took notice to those remarks already prove you have a soul... So cheer up dear, okay?"
"They've come to take your souls away!" Livi suddenly sang out, swinging from an outstretched peice of the statue, her legs and bare feet kicking under her skirt to keep herself moving. She giggled and let herself fall from the statue into the shadows it cast over the water, and the water didn't even splash as she disappeared again. She reappeared beside Alden and wrapped an arm around his shoulders, smiling with a tilt of her head at Polgara. "Vampy?" she suggested.
Alden smiled and nodded. "Yes, I could smell it, got many of their kind visiting my clubs."
"The mere possession of a soul will not do me any good if it is damned, 'twould be better for 'my kind', had we not a soul at all." Pol said quietly, the knowledge coming back to haunt her.
Conall nodded slightly. "Hi..." he said softly.
The human girl lifted her gaze once more, looking him square in the eyes, she held out her hand, "Nikki."
Conall hesitated, but took her hand and shook it lightly and gently. "Conall..."
Nikki did something unexpected, and smiled at him, it was brief, but the smile flashed brightly at him before she turned back to her book and curled her legs under her in an attempt to be more comfortable. "What book are you reading?" she asked interestedly.
"Debt of Honor..." Conall said.
"Good book?" Nikki asked once more, she kept her questions short, in case he didn't want to answer she could just pass off with the silence he omitted from his being. Honestly, she was interested in this night being, she could tell he was one because of the beings around him, including that stragne girl who kept fluttering around in the shadows.
Conall nodded slightly. "Just something to keep me busy."
Nikki nodded in return, her eye once more resuming their dance, fluttering across the page, she paused turning back a few, and then smiled in understanding, then turned back to her current page. She wasn't used to being around people, but there was a comfortable silence with this Conall.
Conall felt a little worried. He didn't want to get too close to this stranger.
Nikki looke dup from her book to watch all of the people around. She saw a man and a woman, the woman had just cut his face, and Nikki winced, placing a hand to the side of her own face. She recognized them as vampires and soon realized that everyone around her was in a way not truely human. She looked back down at her book, wondering what Conall was.
Conall shook his head and sighed. "Idiot..." he muttered, talking about Benigno.
Nikkie laughed, it rang out clear like a bell. She smiled down at her book, her eyes finding their way to Conall.
Conall blinked and looked at her. "?"
Benigno grinned. "You can't break my heart love... its already dead."
Kila groaned. "You are such a loser..."
Bella stared at him "Dead heart?" She smiled and ran her finger nail along the side of his face cutting it. "A vampire?"
Benigno nodded. "Yup." the cut on his face did not bleed seeing that his heart did not beat. He noticed that Kila had left.
Bella backed away "Go find your girlfriend...IM sure she is lost and might get eaten." She backed away from him more.
"Thats my sister." he sighed. "Well adoptive sister." he smiled. 'You can relax... I only drink animal blood."
"IM not a human..." Bella stated simply but backed up more. For some reason she started to feel her heart beat. Her heart hasnt beat for centuries, but even since she met Benigno it began to beat.
Benigno grinned. "Then you have nothing to worry about girly!"
"who said i was worried." Bella stated and backed up more looking for a place to run.
"Its obvious you're freaking out."
"You should shut up before i kill you." Bella stayed away from him, in fear that he might hear her heart beating.
Benigno laughed. "You kill me...?"
Bella stared at him "Your right...your not worth my time.." She began to walk away from him trying to stop her heart by not breathing.
Benigno watched her walk away and shook his head.
Bella appeared behind him "You know. You never told me your name wonder boy." She didnt tell him either, but for some reason she couldnt stay away from him. This wasnt like her at all.
Benigno calmly turned around to face her. "And neither have you."
A man with fire orange hair and amazing green eyes was standing outside of his cabin in a large clearing in the woods. He took a deep breath in, taking in the sweet scent of the air. He looked around for any lost hikers and stepped out, off of his porch and threw together a few logs. He snapped his fingers and created a small flame. He put his finger under the log and groaned when it didn't light. "So it wants to be stubborn today." He took a step back and put his palm up infront of him. He closed his eyes and an orange glow eminated from his hand and soon a fire ball swirled around viciously. He looked at the logs and smirked. He threw the ball at the stacked logs and smiled at the large fire before him. "Now that does it."
Kila walked through the woods in pure anger at her brother. Their family home was deep in the woods and she still hadn't memorised where it was. She walked into a clearing she didn't know with a cabin. She sighed. "Great..." she muttered. She saw the owner outside his house and sighed, walking over."Exscuse me..."
Tonani jumped at the unexpected voice. He squinted his eyes examining her for any threats. "Yes?" He asked.
"Sorry... do you know where the Henilan's house is...?" she asked.
Tonani watched her. "Sorry. Can't say that I do." He sat beside his fire and watched it but kept a swift eye on Kila.
"Oh... fuck." she sat down and groaned. "So now I'm lost..." she muttered to herself.
"Lost? Is it here in the woods?" Tonani asked curiously.
A young lady with long pink hair was sitting in a tree watching Kila and Tonani, she didn't want to be detected so she wasn't moving and her breathing was slow, steady, and quite, it was like she was a statue watching the two below with her pinkish eyes, she wasn't even blinking.
Kila nodded and sighed. "And it really, really sucks."
Tonani sighed and looked into the woods at the total darkness. He grabbed a smaller log near him and wrapped his hands around one end. He held the other end towards her. "This should help you. Here. Take it."
The pink haired girl watched Tonani closely, I wonder what he plans on doing. she thought to herself as she look at the small log he was trying to get the girl to take.
Kila blinked and took it. "...?"
Tonani released his end of the log and a flame was burning brightly under his hands. He smiled at his wonderful creation and than looked seriously at Kila. "That should help you see your way. It gets dark in these woods."
The pink haired girl jumped out of the tree landing right in front of Kila and Tonani in a squatting position, she was wearing blue jeans that was ripped a little on her thigh and a pink shirt that showed her stomach, "Are you going to escourt her through the woods because awful thing come out at night, and a beautiful woman like her shouldn't be alone." she said standing up her pink hair falling on her chest.
Tonani heard saw the girl land and immediately crouched in a defensive position. "Who are you?" He guarded still in his defense mode.
"My name is Kai, I was sitting in the tree above you and you didn't even notice me." Kai said looking at Tonani as her tatoo that started on her left hip and ended a little above her belly button was caught in the light from the flame, "I'm not here to hurt you."
"I'm not afraid of these woods..." Kila said and smiled. "But none the less, thank you."
Tonani sighed bringing his attention back to Kila. "She is right. I should escort you." He looked back to Kai. "And you should leave." He held his head high in a form of honor and pride.
"I should leave?! You can't boss me around like that, who do you think you are?!" Kai said taking a step towards him anger showing not only in her eyes but on her face as well.
Kila stood up. "Uh oh.."
Cricket leaned back against the wall, overwhelmed by all that had just happened. She noticed Angelo walking around. "Some night." She muttered to him.
Angelo glanced over and stopped in his tracks. He nodded, allowing a small smile to grace his lips, "Yes, it is indeed."
"My name's Cricket." She said, extending her hand toward Angelo.
Angelo turned and stepped toward, her taking her hand. He turned it so the back of her hand faced him and raised it to his lips, gently kissing the skin and looked up smiling. "Armanno Angelo," he lowered her hand, but didn't release his gentle hold.
Cricket momentarily blushed, a weird thing for her. She immediately noticed and tried to cover it. "Pardon, I'm new around these parts. Do you know what all that was about?"
Angelo placed his other hand over hers and then let go of her hand, he shook his head. "No, but I do know that night creatures are a curious thing don't you think?"
"Night creatures?" Cricket replied, "You believe in them? I didn't think they really existed."
Angelo stepped closer to her than before, almost a breath away, "You don't, dear Cricket?" He smirked and looked her in the eyes, "And what if I was one?"
Cricket's eyes widened as Angelo stepped closer. "You can't be one. They aren't real. Children's tales. I was told about vampires and lycans when I was young, they're just a fairy tale...I don't believe you."
Angelo stepped back so he wouldn't appear so intimidating any more. He smiled kindly, "You would be surpised at what fairytales are true dear Cricket."
"Is that so?" Cricket smirked. "Prove it."
Angelo frowned, he was a lycan and they were deeply dangerous when they turned, having almost no or little of hteir rational mind left and he would not put anyone in the way of that, it was just too dangerous, so he settled for smirking, and since he towered over her. he bent his head to look down at her, and said in a low, rumbling voice, "It's not full moon yet darling.."
"Right," Cricket scoffed. She was beginning to think her only acquaintance in this town was a bit insane. "That would be a problem."
Angelo let out a laugh that resmebled more of a bark than anything. And his gaze locked onto Cricket's sharply, as he stepped forward till her back hit the wall once more. His voice became low, almost dangerous, "You have no idea, do you little one?" He whispered inher ear, "You have no idea of what night creatures like us can truely do, do you?"
Cricket felt the cold wall behind her. "I'm not afraid of you." She stammered quietly, trying to maintain her composure.
Nikkie laughed, it rang out clear like a bell. She smiled down at her book, her eyes finding their way to Conall.
Conall blinked and looked at her. "?"
Nikkie smiled again, but remained silent.
Conall shrugged slightly and continued reading.
Nikki chuckled to herself, and shook her head.
Conall looked at her again, an eyebrow cocked.
Deidre looked at the woman beside her, "Be considerate that you have a soul to even be damned. My kind doesn't even have one, to my knowledge." She glanced back at Alden, "Nicors are killers and that's all we'll ever be." She looked sorrowful at that statement and stood up, the hem of her dress dipping below the water's edge. She moved gracefully in the water, seeming to create a dance, and the water barely seemed to move against her, but rather with her. She grinned as she danced, her legs moving effortlessly.
"You may have no soul, but I fear your fate will be the same as mine after the Day of Judgment." Polgara murmured regretfully, pushing her silver lock of hair out of her face.
Alden shrugged. "Don't really care about cursed nor soul or not, what I care about is people and their personality, okay as what I am also their lust but yeah that's less important... Also never heard of any day of judgement, well heard of it many times but it has never happened yet..." He smiled softly.
Deidre just titled her head back and laughed, it was crisp this time ringing like a church bell. "The judgement day has been proclaimed since the days of Troy dear Polgara. And if souls do exist, I do not have one for that purpose. And sweet Alden, you need not worry about matters such as these. I enjoy incubs and sucubus for their more carefree nature and their attention to others, very endearing."
Polgara looked at the two, things were so different from what they had been when she had been 'turned', not even demons seemed to believe in God anymore. She wished that she could forget Him as well.
Deidre looked at Polgara, pausing in her dance, she seemed to read her face, "Dear, I was born before God was proclaimed, and I'm sure sweet Alden was as well from the way he talks. So I feel no need to have ever beleived in anything of the sorts."
Alden chuckled and nodded. "Besides of what I recall through time then if that god figure people came with existed then it would not allow some of the atrocities humans have done, at least if what they say about it is supposed to be true, then again if that was it wouldn't allow demons like us to tread its planet so in a sense our own existence here proves it to not be."
Deidre simply smiled in agreement and waded to the edge of the fountain, "Where are you from dear Alden?"
Alden smiled and chuckled softly. "That depends on you mean the question of where I last was or where I was born."
"Where were you born?" Deidre smiled sweetly, she paused, looking for a safe way to get out of the water without splashing Polgara. She may be a nicor, but she never attacked the other creatures without good purpose.
Alden chuckled. "Now that's the more tricky questions.... It's so long ago it's hard to remember... I believe however it was... Greece?" He grinned and shrugged. "I more think of the now then the past, one could spend long time alone if they were only thinking of the past, especially if you got a long one and that has place in many places..."
Deidre smiled as she stepped out of the water, "Ah, Greeace how I loved the country side. But Athens and Sparta were always competing in my attention's eye. How young you are..." Deidre smiled for a moment as she recalled her home place and then turned to the fountain once more, relaxing.
Alden grinned. "Never said when, but as you wish my dear Deidre."
Polgara sat and listened to the two, she was not so ancient as they. For her, Greece had always been just history, and God was everywhere. She rose and took leave of the two demons, heading toward her home on the outskirts of the city.
Deidre waved Polgara goodbye as she left and turned to Alden, smirking, "As you wish," she teased, "I am from a village in Mesopotamia from wht I remember, I travled around from place to place, so I guess you could truely say I'm from nowhere or everywhere. Though I prefer everywhere, sounds much more interesting, don't you think?" She chuckled to herself quietly.
Alden smiled and nodded. "Quite true my dear, I have been about everywhere as well myself, as for greece with that fight, I didn't really care to stay around.... In war there is unfortunately so little place for a fling or two..." He grinned and shrugged.
Kage wandered the streets, releshing the realative quiet of the night. His katana he kept at his side, making sure to hide the huge pistols, as such things tended to scare people...and he didn't want any unwarented problems. what a difference there is between this city of stone and Nipon he thought to himself.
Polgara rounded a corner and found herself face to face with Kage, stopping abruptly, ready for anything.
"If you're looking for a fight Vampire...i would advise you look else where" he warned, put on guard by her defensive ness. He could tell she was young, alot younger than he. He considered pulling out one of the pistols, each one weighed in at twenty pounds unloaded, rendering them recoiless and deadly accurate. He kept each one loaded with silver bullets.
Lavinia had watched Polgara round the corner, and not quiet finished with her games, decided to follow her. She appeared in a molding of shadows to Polgara and Kage's sides and she grinned at them both as her clothes were the last to manifest. "Fear, oh children, for the demons sway!" she sang, skipping around Polgara, swishing her skirt playfully. "They've come to take your souls away!" She continued skipping to Kage now, twirling around him playfully. "All you can do is cry and pray, that you'll live to see another day!" she giggled, her black hair falling around her shoulders and face as she grinned at Kage.
Pol relaxed ever so slightly at Kage's words, though she still kept a sharp eye on him. Then she started as Lavinia materialized seemingly out of nowhere, the vampire was tensed to spring, she had been chased down by a group of humans earlier, she was not in a mood to be startled.
Kage, startled by Lavinia's appearance...and having been avoiding potential hunters all day, whipped out one of the massive pistols, ramming the slide home. Leaping sidways towards Pol with the huge gun trained on the Deamon. He paused "In the future Deamon...i would advise you not surprise me" he said warily, holding the weapon with a single, steady hand, though lowering it slightly. He made sure it had a silencer on it.
Pol jumped, taking a step back away from Kage.
Livi studied the gun for a moment, then smiled and tilted her head at Kage and Polgara, her hands at her sides, her skirt stilled and her hair falling around her lightly. "What makes you think I'll be in your future?" she asked him curiously with a grin. "I'm a shadow, fleeting and never the same, never in exactly the same place twice." she explained, running a hand through her hair. She spun slowly so her back was to him, walking on the balls of her feet delicately as she did. "What makes you think it won't be you who is in MY future?"
A hunter and three acolytes came up. Without hesitation Kage leveled them, four shots, four kills. The huge shell casings impacting on the ground, the silencer doing it's job well. He turned back to the Deamon, who he found amusing in her ridles "All the same, reguardless of who's future either of us are in...it is not wise to sneak up on somone who has been around as long as i...but forgive me..i am new to this town, i like it...though to many hunters for my taste...but as you can see...they are mortal" he said calously in reguards to the four lying dead. "I'm sorry to have startled you" he said to Pol "I am rather jumpy as i'm not used to being hunted like i have been today"
"You seem to be older than I, in this world, one would think you would be." Pol replied coldly, keeping an eye on the two, she didn't trust either of them.
"I'll give you a hint how old i am young one....I'm Mesopotamian...to be precise one of the lost rulers that they say disappeared" Kage replied simply, holstering the pistol he had at his side, though not until after he removed the silencer.
"'Young one', that's one I've not heard in centuries." Pol commented dryly, though she was very interested to meet a fellow vampire who was not young and stupid.
"My apologies" he said simply. His white hair flowed in the night breeze "It's interesting...i haven't seen such a concentration of night beings...in awhile" Well...since the attack on katakaru... He glanced warily around him paying the Deamon little notice. His rules where simple, don't try to kill me and i will let you be.
Pol nodded, "You get used to that in Baglavad," she said, "all the night activity here is run by beings of the night."
"Baglavad..." he said with a bit of a Russian accent "What a strange place....i like it, though i must say the humans here are particularly stupid" he spat "One would think i would be left alone...but if its not street trash trying to rob me...it's some damn hunter after my scalp!"
"Is your scalp something to be treasured?" Livi asked, her voice suddenly coming from behind them, and precariously close to them, her hands folded behind her back lightly and a playful smile on her pretty lips. She watched Kage and Pol with a childish interest and she giggled. "Are they going to make a shrunken head of you?" she asked, reaching into a pouch on her belt and pulling out just that: a shrunken head of a woman with her eyes and mouth sewed shut, holding it up by her black, braided hair, the skin wrinkled and dry. She grinned and raised her eyebrows. "They're good luck." she winked. Being a gypsy, she knew these things.
Despite himself he laughed "Well aren't you the witty one" his voice was soft, yet realativly at ease. He stood against the wall, pulling the magazine from the pistol he had just fired, loading four more rounds into it, each one had a silver glint "I know what you might be thinking...i am no hunter" he said, the distaste for the very word clear in his face.
Pol took a step back, that had indeed been exactly what she was thinking, "No? What else could act so at ease with creatures of the night?" she demanded, "You are no vampire, you can touch silver. My only question is, why have you not destroyed me yet?" Polgara was usually very peaceful, but now her dark blue eyes held a dangerous glint as her hand went slowly to the knife at her belt.
"No...i am not a full blooded Vampire...My Father was a Vampire, and my mother a human...like i said...i am four centuries old...and if i wanted to kill you...you would already be dead by now" he said simply, placing the reloaded weapon back in his holster "You really think an arrogant hunter would have been able to avoid killing you on the spot?...please...human's are far from subtle...the scent of their blood gives them away most easily when they intend to kill you...it changes from a fragrance...to somthing im not quite sure how to describe" he said wrinkling his nose "Most unpleasant"
"You don't think that I have noticed that?" she snapped, "But I have met some who could mask the scent of their anticipation of the kill. Just because I am not so ancient as you, does not mean I am stupid. My earliest days as what I am now were perhaps the most dangerous." Pol was still very suspicious, she was not sure if she should believe him or not. Something about him made her want to believe him, but she was not sure if it was wise.
"I'm going to hate myself for this" he growled. A black hole opened up, out of it a very confused looking young man tumbled, some sort of hard alcohol in his hand. Kage picked him up, he chose a man cause he made a promise to do so unless it was to punish for capital offenses. He drained his blood in minutes, incinerating his body an casting the ashes to the wind "Satisfied?" his tone was even, but one could tell he hated himself for it...he only did that to regenerate a horrific wound...but the last thing he needed where hunters and Night creatures hunting him.
Polgara nodded, she relaxed visibly, especially knowing that he too hated to take lives. Though this Shadow Demon was still getting on her nerves.
Seeing her relax he sighed "Mine is both a blessing and a curse...power, immortality, strengh and stamina....yet i can walk day or night as i choose" he said grimly. He thought about telling her the secret to his blood but decided against it last time i shared so freely...it cost an entire city their lives he saw a lone figure approach....a catholic inquisitor "Well well well...look who joined the party...." his words where cut short by a long spear pinning him to the wall "Unfortunately for you inquisitor...your little spells of silver..just don't work on me" he snarled, pulling out both his pistols and slipping the silencers on them "Come an get me!"
Polgara backed away slowly, the Inquisitor like a nightmarish shadow of her past. T think that she once would have call this man Father and clung to his every word, she had become the very thing that he would spend his life fighting against.
Kage sighed, lining up both pistols on his target. The inquisitor drew about him a sheild "You think your weapons can hurt me Deamon? go to hell!" he spat. Kage smiled "Kagesai Bachiatarie" he muttered, firing off all twenty rounds in a matter of secounds. The inquisitor stumbled back, his eyes, ears and nose bleeding from trying to sustain the sheild under such an attack. By that time, Kage had loaded a single shell..the bullet was black with a red tip "Be gone, and trouble me no more my foe" he intoned before firing at the inquisitor. A small hole protruded from his arm as he laughed at kage "And what the hell was that supposed to be?" he said, only to scream in agony as the huge bullet exploded, pulverising his arm to a bloody stump at the shoulder. He ran off, screaming in agony "He won't be back for a long time...i erased his memory of this place and put it out in the wilderness" he said with a sly smile "Now that Shadow deamon..is how you toy with humans"
Pol watched, stunned, from the shadow where she stood, everything but the silver in her hair seeming to fade into the darkness.
Sighing, Kage walked on wards, sliding fresh magazines into each gun. He had shown a ferocity not often shown, but he hated inquisitors more than anyone or anything else....such a ruthless display was rarely seen outside of such an encounter. He to had looked up to such a leader...till he found out and hunted him down and tried to kill him. He picked up all the spent shell casings, putting them in a side pouch.
Livi had watched this exchange between the inquisitor and Kage with a seemingly bored expression on her face, then she grinned as Kage cleaned up his mess and the inquisitor ran off. "No. This is." she said and snapped her fingers. A shadowy figure rose up from the shaded ground of a building beside her and it manifested into that of the inquisitor, still bleeding from his shoulder and screaming, his eyes wide. She smirked at him, twisting her fingers around until coils of shadow rose from the ground to wrap around his ankles, and his one remaining arm, then up his body. The several coils all found their ways into different orifices of his body, including the stump of a shoulder he had, sliding into his eyes, nose, mouth, ears, and even under his fingernails, making him scream in absolute horror, even if he didn't feel any pain. "Bye-bye!" she said and waved and he was suddenly engulfed in blackness, then gone in the blink of an eye. She clapped and giggled, spinning around some more, pulling out her shrunken head again and holding it in her hands like it was some adorable baby, even making funny cooing noises at it and kissing its nose. "That was too fun! Haven't done that in a while, no sir!" she said happily and giggled again, tossing the head around like a ball now.
Kage looked at her with an intrigued smile "That is another way...though you did ruin my fun" he said feighning sadness, he was in a good mood "I was planning on him leading back his fellow thugs and plastering them all over town hall....make for a nasty little surprise don't you think? oh well...there is always next time"
Pol watched and listened silently to the other two, she was still very wary, but also very interested by Kaige.
Kage glanced from shadow deamon to Vampire, it had been awile since he had dealt with either and even longer since those dealings where friendly.
Lavinia grinned whole-heartedly at Kage and she twirled a finger in the shrunken head's braided hair, cradling it against her stomach like some precious orb. "There is always next time." she repeated Kage, but with a more... whistful and dreamy explanation. Her eyes seemed to daze off and she smiled at the moon and star-filled sky, her fingers twirling and tangling more and more into the head's hair. She sighed dreamily, then giggled and pulled her hands from the head's hair, stuffing the head back into its pouch on her belt, twirling her way back to Kage where she fell around his shoulders with another sigh. "But when the next times end?"
"Then one moves on" he said lightly "Life, shadow deamon, is a game of survival....at least that is the first thing nearly four thousand years of existance has taught me. The winner gets to fight another day....and the loser...well...the loser ends up as a red stain in the street on a dark night. But that is just one of many of lifes' little lessons"
"There is sometimes a third option," Pol spoke up quietly, "for those of us who are not strong enough to prevail in an outright batle."
"Suicide?" he asked simply, the traces of pride, arrogance and sublimity that where all part of the elite class of Japanese nobility "If that is indeed what you mean young one....that is a..extreme option" he said simply.
Polgara blinked, apalled by Kaige's apparant approval of suiscde, "Survival," she said, "does not always depend upon the death of one party or the other. It seems that you may think me a coward, but avoiding as much confrontation as is possible, I have found, makes survival much easyer."
"You mistake me, i do not approve of suicide nor do i think you a coward" his voice was soft, almost comforting and reassuring "Just because i am from Nipon does not mean i approve of suicide" his eyes darkened in sorrow though this was near inperceptable.
Polgara studied Kaige, no longer a cautious, suspicious study, but a curious, appraising study, "You are a truly interesting being." she murmured quietly.
"I have come across to many hard and painfully earned lessons not to be i suppose" he said softly "To many...lessons to many losses to simply take life at a glance"
"Uh oh.."
Tonani stood and his hair and hands turned to flames. "Back off! Any closer and I will attack." He threatened in a deep feared voice.
"Like I'm afraid of some fire demon, yeah right!" Kai said standing in the same spot glaring daggers at Tonani.
Tonani smirked. "You should be." He winked and suddenly a fire started just below Kai but not enough to injure her. "That is a mere warning. Back off."
Kai disappeared, "I was here first, and you have no right to boss me around." Kai said from beside Tonani.
Tonani jumped back and growled. "Here first? HOW? I've lived here for many years!" He informed Kai. He looked to Kila. "My deepest apologies." He told this other new woman.
"I'm not talking about living here, and you still don't have any right to boss me around even if you've lived here for many years." Kai said glaring at Tonani again.
Kila laughed slightly. "It's alright. I'm used to it really."
Bella looked at him. "I-I asked you your name first Wnder boy."
"I am called Benigno. There. Now you." he grinned.
Bella blinked "Now me what?!"
"What is your name...?" Benigno asked, a smirk on his face.
Bella looked away "Wh..Why? Its not tht important."
Nikki chuckled to herself, and shook her head.
Conall looked at her again, an eyebrow cocked. "Whats so funny...?" he asked.
Nikki just smiled kindly, but her voice replied as if she was answering a simple question about the weather, "Nothing, just wondering what it must be like one of these night creatures. Do you ever think about it?" She commented on the subject as if she was simply talking about the day or perhaps even a flower, and she then looked back to her book uninterestedly, awaiting an answer from the man beside her.
Conall looked down. "... no." he said quietly. He knew very well how it was, but he didn't want her to know what he really was.
Deidre smiled, and spun around, enjoying the moonlight. "It is indeed," she paused to remember what war he was tlaking about and then responded with a striaght face, standing completly still this time, only he wind playing with her hair, as if begging her to join it in its playful endevore, "Yes, but I left beofre the war, I feel no need to stay in one place to long, not with my nature, it's too dangerous."
Alden chuckled. "Same here, war just doesn't really fit my nature or personality for that matter, like so many lovestruck idealists have said, make love not war..... I'm all for that..." He grinned slightly mischevious.
"If only..." Deidre whispered below her breath, she seemed to be talking to herself more than to any one person in particular. Her eyes glazed for a moment's pause and her true peaceful anture could be glimsped at, but her eyes once more sharpened and she smiled, plastering it on her face, but it seemed to fit, as if she was made that way. It became mischevious, teasing. She parted her lips to speak, "ANd why do we speak of the past as if a lost lover, like one, it meant to be behind us. Come let us change the topic at hand and enjoy a walk and a new change of pace, hmm?"
Alden chuckled softly and nodded. "Gladly my dear and well you did bring it up yourself my dear, but I would gladly speak of more present things, like what you like for example." He smiled mischeviously and walked over to her yet kept a sort of safe distance that he had figured she prefered.
She noticed his kind gesture and smiled gratefully this time. "That I did, sorry for that mild unplesurantry." She noticed his grin and noted it, raising one eyebrow, "And of subject would "things I like" fall under sweet Alden?"
Alden grinned. "That is mostly up for you to decide but most common is, do you like soft or hard candy? Do you like alcoholic beaverages and in such case what kind? Brandy? Scotch? Wine? Or Ale perhaps? Do you like soft and tender music or more daring and swift music? Just to mention a few options to pick from in that question, of course if there is more intimate questions you'd like to answer I am all ears of course." He smiled charmingly with a slight glint in his eye.
Deidre laughed, this time it came out more softly, almost as if the laugh itself were humoring her as well with its whimspcal appeal. She smiled once her laughter died down, "I prefer choclate, it has become much better since the Aztecs first made it, very bitter then trust me. I do not drink much, but when I indulge, I prefer scotch, much more my taste. I like both types of music, it is the dancing I prefer, as long as I can move. And as for the others, they can wait till a later time," Deidre smiled charmingly, she rarely used that smile, but when she did, it lit up her face in a way that seemed to knock someone breathless and actually have to think about breathign once more to fill their lungs with much needed burning relief. It seemed to lighten her face and give a glow to her being, making it seem that she was much younger if you knew her true age and could see the mild serious she carried at most times.
Alden smiled joyfully. "Ah yes, using the bean pure is rather bitter, Scotch? And yes I don't usually drink, I pretty much only do it since humans seems to find some sort of romance about two people alone drinkin an intimate drink... For dancing? Well I am known to be praised for my dancing, some my singing as well, but then again that's probably mostly due to my charms as you might call them as an incubus....." He grinned slightly. "Oh and I'll gladly wait for that later time..." He winked and smiled softly and reached out his arm. "But for now, how about a nice walk as you suggested?"
Deidre looked at his arm warily for a moment before nodding her consent, and gently looped her arm through his, resting her hand on his forearm. But chuckled to herself, "That time might never come you know, I am not too personal with somethings, but with others I do not reveal, only to those I trust." She looked at him, smiling gently, "Yes, I indulge in in drink, but rather not for anything more than amusement, these humans can be annoying escpecially when I step into the bar, so it is not something I tamper into often. And as for dancing, you dance well, enough for priase? That must be a sight to behold, I have heard succubus and incubus are renound for their talents in the arts."
Alden smiled and a faint red teint colored his cheeks. "Oh you flatter me, but I'd gladly join you for a dance or two some time if it pleases you, then you can decide for yourself." He smiled slightly more and grinned softly. "That might be, but I'm willing to try and become that trusted...." He looked to her with a most charming smile as he had already scoped the view ahead in advance to avoid walking into anything and seem stupid.
Deidre couldn't help herself, but as he blushed, she pushed the back of her hand across the blush softly, barely grazing the skin. And she pulled her hand back as he continued to speak. She looked forward again and let a small smile graze her lips in a toothless grin. "Perhaps, but for now I would just enjoy the walk. As for trust, only time will tell that tale."
Alden sighed contently softly at the light graze of her soft skin. "Of course my dear Deidre and well I do know that it won't be easy to earn your trust but I am willing however to do my best to try and earn it." He said with a smile.
Deidre nodded, her face placing a mask of content and peace over her features as she continued to walk with Alden, she looked as if in thought and after several minutes of silence, she had an amused smile on, "Do you ever think we might have met before this?"
Alden smiled. "I doubt it, had I seen a face as beautiful as yours I would clearly have remembered it." He grinned. "However we might have been in the same city without knowing cause I also feel like I have been near your presence before."
"Perhaps," Deidre smiled coyly, and raised her other hand to place it on the top of the hand that rested on his arm and she looked on to the moon.
Alden smiled and nodded and first looked to her hand as he felt her place it on the other one and then smiled and followed her gaze at the moon. "It's a truly beautiful moon tonight, most fitting for such beautiful company..." He smiled softly.
Deidre chuckled softly, her gaze at the moon unwavering, she smirked, "A way with the arts and with words..my, my, tell me dear Alden is there anything you incubbuss can't do well?"
Alden chuckled and shrugged. "I can imagine there is many, however right now all I can think of is you my dear Deidre." He said with a soft smile.
Deidre smiled kindly, and let a small gentle niose crom her her throat signalling her content at the moment. "I suppose I can add flirting to th elist as well?" She gave a teasing smile.
Alden chuckled. "Well I am a Incubus, hope you don't hold that against me, but with someone so beautiful it's just hard to keep my tongue in place." He smiled in a sense apologizing and yet enamoring.
"No, ti's afresh change of pace. I have not dealt with your kind in so long, it's nice to see one again. I traveled with a succubus for some time until she went off on her own, you all are rather doting creatures, which I happen to enjoy." Deidre smiled.
Alden smiled back. "That's great to hear and I am honored by your praise, some mainly only use us for our.... Shall we call them services? Not too many unfortunately consider the personality we have... Of course in general we like to make people happy, which otherwise would make our living very difficult if we didn't." He grinned.
"Such talent is wasted in that way," Deidre shook her head, but smiled, "Shame that, hmm? Well of course, if I remember correctly then, both succubuss and inccubuss alike adore praise in both recieving and giving. That is where we differ my dear, nicors like only small things, and are simple creatures, as we adore the simple things in life. We are mostly solitary creatures, only amusing ourselves with company when we feel a break from our lives."
Alden nodded. "We do like that yes and well it can easily be the small things we praise, not just the grandeur things, but yeah either way I wouldn't call us solitary creatures, we are a social kind by nature as much must I admit... But it's yet also not in such a way that we'd go off with just anybody just to avoid being lonesome though." He smiled softly and looked to her.
"Praise is praise, not matter the size of the box it is given in, it is the wrappings and the bow that excite," Deidre replied, smiling cheekily. "I rarely indulge in company, but when I do, it is with someone who captures my attention. I may be a nicor, but I am only half, seeing as how my nicor father raped a human woman and the woman was seized and made to bare me, and he raised me till he died which was much later. It is the males that raise the young in our culture. If the male breeds, the demon is rarely half, but if the woman breeds, the spawn is full no matter who she mates with. So I suppose in that view, I indulge more in company and in humanistic things more often than other demons."
Alden smiled. "True enough, also who that gives the praise and well that's only positive I think, otherwise I wouldn't be able to talk to you now could I dear Deidre?"
Deidre laughed slightly, "Humble but still holds a silver tounge! How very clever dear Alden!"
Alden smiled. "Oh no, you give me far too much credit my dear, I would not dare be that cheeky in your proud presence."
"BUt you are my dear inccubuss! you are! And you continue still," Deidre chuckled.
Alden grinned. "Oh my, we'd better fix that up now won't we? Can't have me being rude to someone as beautiful as you, it would be.... Well rude."
Nikki looked directly at Conall this time, veiwing his reaction. "I often wondered what it would be like to be a lycan, they seem so fasinating. My father studied them, trying to see if he could somethign for them, but I beleive they are fine as they are." She blinked, as if she wanted to say something, and being herself, Nikki was a brazen, outspoken youg woman, and decided to say it anyway, "You truely never wondered?"
Conall looked at her. From what anyone could see, the subject hurt him. His eyes showed that it did. He stood up, and without a word, started walking away. He didn't want to get attached, because he knew what it would mean. This girl... she was the same, and that is what hurt him the most.
Nikki blinked and was starled when he stood up, she hadn't meant to hurt him so and chased after him extremly fast for someone her size. She locked onto his wrist with both of her hands, refusing to let go. She may have been small, but her father had taught to be very strong in case of an attack. "I'm sorry, please don't go. I won't bring up the subject again, I promise!!" She walked so she was in front of him, and laid one hand on his hcest to stop him from walking and to look at her. She gave her cutest puppy dog look and muttered, "I won't, I promise I won't...." Her other hand still held onto his wrist.
Conall sighed softly. He couldn't just yell at her to leave him alone like he did most people. "Alright..." he muttered softly.
Nikki's whole face lit up brightly as she smiled and spotted a small coffee shop, "How about some coffee then?" She decided, no matter how much she wanted to ask, she was letting the whole 'night creature' conversation drop into the ashes.
Conall shrugged. "Sure." he said softly.
"Good!" With that, her hand loosened on his wrist but did not let go as she walked him to teh coffee shop. They seemed to know her there and one of the workers went about preparing a drink. Nikki turned to him, "What would you like?"
"I told you, now you tell me."
Bella smirked and decided to lie to him about her name. "My name is Ariel."
Benigno raised an eyebrow. "...Ariel...? You don't look like an Ariel..."
Bella sighed "Look my name is Ariel, just because i dont look like it, doesnt mean im not her."
"I suppose that is what makes us different, since I was turned, so long ago, I have not had anything to lose." Pol said.
"I have been turned since the very begining....however my blood...it acts as an antidote to the Vampire effect...so much so that i have turned vampires into humans just through them biting me" he realized he had spilled one of two secrets that he swore he would never tell dammit! he screamed internaly.
Pol started at this information, not sure if she believed him.
Kage smiled "I ask you again...what reason would i have for lying to you? no matter" he said simply Kagemusha Bachiatari....that is what she called me so long ago...before she died anyways he thought bitterly. "This city is strangly welcoming...so dark and with so many places one can simply dissapear in"
"She?" Pol asked, cocking her head curiously.
Kage started, then smiled "Yes she" he said quietly "A young Japanese Vampire that had been hunting me for three hundred years...a game it was to both of us till i let her catch me and drink my blood...she became much like me" he stopped himself "She died when an army of Lycans attacked the Village i was living at...she gave me my name" he said simply, the dreamy look in his eyes fading quickly.
Pol gazed at Kaige for a moment, then realization reached her deep blue eyes, "You loved her." she observed softly.
Kage smiled at her "It would have definately become that....that war lasted till recently...in fact that is the reason why i relocated here...everything that had kept me in Nipon was either dead or burning to the ground....same story just a different twist" he said softly.
Polgara gazed at him, "I sense that there is so much more to you than you even let on Kagemusha Bachiatari." she smiled slightly.
He started visably "It has been a long time young one...since i have heard that name. Living the way i have lived...is...trying to say the least, living in one place till all that holds you to it is burned to the ground" he sighed.
Pol gontinued to gaze at him, becoming more intrigued as she continued to talk to him, "There is so much pain in your voice, and you hide it so well." she murmured.
"It is somthing born out of a life time of struggle and intrigue...at times i wish it where not so but at others....i have little better to do" he said casually though it was plain the first was more true than the secound. He bowed before vanishing off into the night.
Tonani frowned. "Whatever woman." He snarled at Kai. "Please, allow me to walk you home." He asked of Kila.
Kai glared at Tonani, "You know, I usually try not to be violent, but you're making it very difficult."
Kila looked from Tonani to Kai. "Meep..."
Tonani rolled his eyes at Kai's words. "Please." He stretched his hand out for Kila.
Kai glared at Tonani for a few momments then turned around took three steps and turned her head slightly to look over her shoulder, "You are so annoying and not worth my time." she said before walking away.
Tonani looked towards Kai and growled than looked back at Kila with a smile.
Angelo smirked, "I never asked you to be, little one," he stepped back, not wanting to truely scare but to make apoint, "Night creatures are dangerous creatures and you might to be careful as not to upset with one who has no control my lady."
Cricket smirked. "Well you seem to be pretty controlled so far."
Angelo smiled this time, and chuckled, "I am a lycan, dear Cricket, and when the moon is not full, I am in more controll, I am...well I guess you could say, I am more human/"
"I see that." Cricket muttered. She stood silent for a moment. "When the moon is full, I want to see it."
Angelo's eyes clouded over and a low growl built in volume at the back of his throat, "No, and that is final. Werewolves are dangerous creatures and when the moon is full there is no stopping them, they will kill without a second or even a reason. Do you understand?"
Cricket looked up at Angelo and smirked. "Clear as crystal."
Angelo recovered from his temper quickly, "I was in human form and you see how dangerous it was. Most of my kind lure you and your kind of humans away with our "danger", it can be easy. Though I prefer soulitide on my own moon. I am sorry for scaring you little one."
Deidre smiled, "It is not rude dear Alden. But please tell me something more about yourself, I grow weary of my own voice."
Alden smiled. "I for one could never grow tired of hearing your musical voice... But as you wish fair Deidre, I shall try and indulge your desire to hear about me, but in that case.... What would you like to know more about me more exactly, I can tell you about my past, my own desires or anything you desire to know about me... How long I can go on, how many my average is on or if perhaps you want to know my preference when it comes to that..." He grinned as he looked to her, ready to respond one way or the other depending on her reaction to his words.
Deidre chuckled, "Start where you wish, as I stated, I merely wish to know more about yourself, if that means your past, your present self, or any of your preferences, so be it." She flashed him a small smile and glanced around them, as they had ended up in the park.
Alden chuckled and looked up into the night sky after noticing where they had ended up. "Well then, for starters then I like nights with moons like these, so rare to see in towns like these now a days... I also like the occasional walk in the park as the scent of nature and sounds soothes me, I wouldn't say I am much for fashion from these days but some things are kind of convenient though if I do have to say so myself... As for past, well then I pretty much went wherever I heard there wasn't any war and where there seemed to be lot of love starved women, however did try to avoid those of my own kind, most just was interested in the whole soul sucking thing... So much more fun to sustain one self on more.... Pleasurable pass-time occupations... If you catch my drift as the youngsters seem to like to say these times." He grinned at the thought of what he had heard and seen through time of the mortal humans and their youngsters.
Comming out of a bar drunk as hell, Nelo starts walking towards a couple. Nelo starts to think that this couple might make some good friends. But then he corrects himself by thinking 'What do I care anyways. Although I do need friends.'
Nelo hears some arguing and starts to head in that direction.
"A moon like this is rare indeed dear Alden, much like a good lover," Deirdre chuckled. She looked back to Alden, "Shall we sit?" She waved her hand to a bench that looked oddly placed under a tree slightly away from teh path that stood under their feet. It almsot seemed as if it were placed there by magic. From the bench a small lake could be viewed and upon seeing it, Deirdre smiled even wider than before.
Alden smiled and nodded. "Gladly sweet Deirdre and yes that is something rare as well indeed." He followed after her with a gentle smile.
"You would know something of that then?" Deirdre teased gently, as she made her way gracefully to the bench avoiding the stones and twigs that laid about.
Alden grinned and shrugged. "I might, how much I know about such is something however you'd have to get closer to find out..." He smirked softly and avoided calmly to step on anything other then the soft grass.
Deirdre spun around so quickly that she was a blur and landed rigth in front of Alden. A wicked smile tthreatened to play across her red, red lips as she whispered softly, the amusement lacing in her voice, "Having a nicor close to you is a dangerous thing to do dear incubus...."
Alden smiled and put on his most charming smile. "I wouldn't mind the risk when it's with such beautiful company."
Benigno shrugged.
"You know. Now that i think of it." Bella pinned him against a tree, that was jus randomly there. "you look very tasty. For a vampire, and for something for me to eat."
Benigno looked over at her with a smirk. "And what do you mean by that?"
Bella took him from the tree adn threw him onto the ground, and then got ontop of him. "I mean that im going to bite you and drain you of all your blood, slowly, and watch the life that you had in you drain from you pure black eyes."
Benigno looked unamused. "I can't die like that, dumbass.... it doesn't bother me..." he shrugged.
Bella scratched his face and spat down at him. "Watch what you say or i will kill you for real."
Benigno threw her off with vampire strength and growled. "Thats enough you little fledgling." he hissed. Now he was pissed off.
Bella landed on her feet and laughed a little. "Is that all you got prissy boy?"
Benigno stood up. "Get over yourself."
Kage wandered past the two smilling to himself. If it was one advantage he had over other night creatures it was that none knew he was one unless he told them or they where otherwise unfortunate enough to piss him off...somthing hard to do.
"or what?" Bella stated laughing a little.
Nelo started around a corner near the argument that was going on. When he got around the corner he saw a beautiful lady whom was, it seemed, laughing.
Standing off at a short distance, Kage noticed Nelo. Deciding it would be interesting to whach. Standing out under a tree, a looming shadow against the tree.
Nelo starts to walk towards the laughing lady. He asks her, in a drunken way, "What ish your name?"
Benigno rolled his eyes. "You piss me off." he growled and walked off. That was something hard to do.
Bella blinked and decided she was going to follow him, but she was going to stay hidden.
